Red Corsairs ( "counts-as" Space Wolves) 1000pt Force

 Hello Again!
This is a few shot of an old counts as army I did for a team tournament in 2011. These guys are designed as a Space Wolf list (since the old CSM dex sorta sucked at the time) with a Red Corsair theme to match the Astral Claws that my buddy CJ did for the other half of the army. It is kind of a "Before and After" look at Huron with the Badab War as the obvious separation of his two persona.
( I apologize for any blurred pics, I'm working with a different camera that has a smaller screen with less res. so it is hard to gauge how good the pics are until uploaded... Oh! and I'm too lazy to set everything up again to retake photos XD )

I created Huron Blackheart as a Wolf Lord riding into battle on a big Chaos Hound-ish Beast and escorted by a whole mess of chaos hounds ( fenrisian wolves). I realize this model might seem like a bit of a cop out, but I really love the Huron model and didnt think I could do any better at incorporating him on a mount. not to mention this set up allowed me to create him as an insert to the bigger model (see below), so i could still pull him out and play him as the true Huron if I wanted.

 I also wanted to incorporate the capture of the Space Wolf Cruiser that they make so much noise about in the fluff. To that end I added some chaos-ified space wolves and a kicking corrupted rune priest to the army.

 In the interest of keeping the squads fairly individual and easily identified I split the others into clearly different styles while maintaining the over all look.

I also added custom shoulder pads to all of the squads and rune priest to show off their new affiliations!

It really is the Tyrant Fist, I promise

Over all I am very happy with how the paint turned out on the HQ characters.

As an added benefit to playing space wolves (in addition to Huron's hunting buddies), I get to use razorbacks, and who doesn't love those things?
